PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Safe-Tech Rope Rescue course is Ski Industry tower specific and conducted on-site for a maximum of 6 participants. This one day program includes a morning in-class component followed by simulated rescue training exercises at/on a tower. Attendees will be provided with the knowledge required to assess and conduct the rescue of a harnessed worker from the deck or ladder system using a rope rescue system with integrated braking.

PRE-REQUISITE

Participants must be currently certified in Working at Heights, be physically fit, capable and comfortable climbing and working at height. (Weather suitable clothing and a ladder climbing harness is required, climbing helmets and gloves will be provided). * Hosting site needs to provide cable grab if towers are equipped with ladder climb vertical cable system.

COMPLIANCE

  1. Due to the risk of suspension trauma and death, rescue for a worker hanging in a harness needs to occur ASAP, relying solely on a 911 response is typically not a recommended option. OHSA Reg 213/91 requires employers to have viable rescue plans in place for workers that climb or work at heights to perform repairs. Rope rescue training is the key required component to implementing rescue.
